Producer Robbed While Working on a New Video
Living the high life is something that many dream of and continue to think about when the reality is, we are often stuck in our regular lives. Having it all is relative, as many of the rich and famous are not necessarily any happier than us; it is purely a perception of the way they live. They go through some of the same trials and tribulations as the rest of us, but they simply have more money and possessions than us and sometimes are miserable living that lifestyle. They are subject to the paparazzi and the media who seem to try their best to make them feel miserable about themselves. When you are in spotlight, you are also subject to scrutiny and people often cast dispersions on you and talk bad about you when that may or may not be justified. Of course, there are many perks as well, from the money to the fame to the attention and many thrive on that as well. This does open you up to being a victim, especially regarding the money. In an economy where many are jobless, thieves are just around the corner and often target those who have a lot of money in order to get some for themselves.
Being a rap star opens you to a lot of worry as you are expected to flaunt your money to some degree. That mentality backfired on a well-known producer who was robbed of cash and jewelry on the set while producing a new video for The Game and Chris Brown. While sitting in his car, two masked men approached him and robbed him of his jewelry and wallet. He ended up having $12,000 taken from him. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it does go to show you that many people will go to great lengths to make sure they have money, even at the expense of other, innocent people. Mars, the producer in question, had just walked a few blocks from the set and was accosted while sitting in his car with a friend. There was security, but it was on the set, so just walking away can cause problems. The two thieves were probably aware of who was there and that they could strike rather easily when any of the major players walked away from the set. They eventually drove off in a Nissan Altima with the loot.
South Los Angeles is an area that has a high amount of crime, but most do not expect that they will be the victim of a crime when they are minding their own business. For a criminal, this is the best time to act as the victim is unaware of what will happen and they can use the element of surprise. Unfortunately, sometimes, when you live a high roller lifestyle, you become a target. Maybe next time, Mars will think twice about carrying around so much cash and having such expensive tastes, but then again, that is what does and that is definitely not a crime.
